I think Tofu is a tasteless, rubbery stuff, which do require an inducement like color, masala to eat. for the spicy Indian palette , your recipe looks good.

Sanjana, I disagree with you on fatty Paneer, Panner is not as fatty as you think, you can make lower fat version (in technical terms) at home using semi skimmed milk giving u 100 calorie paneer

Traditional Paneer in India is low in fat content as Fat(cream) is taken out of milk before Paneer is made, yes in UK due to regulation its more fattening
